Masaharu Sudo, mayor of Nobeoka, Japan, Medford's sister city, and Mayor Michael J. McGlynn met Tuesday during Sudo's visit.

Medford Mayor Michael J. McGlynn Tuesday met with the mayor of Medford's sister city of  Nobeoka, Japan, McGlynn's office said.

Mayor Masaharu Sudo met with McGlynn and the two leaders exchanged gifts, and discussed through interpreters their shared love of hockey.

Sister cities since 1980, every year the cities take turns hosting exchange students. The Medford Rotary Club is currently searching for students to sponsor for the two-week exchange that is slated for this summer.
