Medford Mayor Michael J. McGlynn announced the renovation of Hormel Stadium with the Medford High School Mustangs football team looking on.

Medford Mayor Michael J. McGlynn and members of the Medford City Council will commemorate the renovation of Hormel Stadium's field with a ribbon-cutting Friday.

The ceremony, slated for 6:30 p.m. before the first home Medford High School football game, will take place on the new turf surface.

The project, which cost $860,000, was part of a package of capital improvements proposed by the mayor and later OK'd by the City Council.

Cost to the city, however, totaled $360,000, after a $500,000 grant from the state's Executive Office of Energey and Environmental Affairs.
