City councilors in Medford will consider whether to take out at $3.2 million loan to make improvements to the city's water system.

Mayor Michael McGlynn requested funding, which would be sought from the Local Pipeline Assistance Program of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.

All bond orders in Medford require at least a 5 to 2 vote in favor by the City Council to be approved. The council will consider the bond in a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.
