The possibility of a casino development in Everett will again be raised by the Medford City Council in its meeting Tuesday, according to a meeting agenda.
In December, the council voted by a 5-2 margin to oppose any casino development at the old Monsanto Chemical Company site, a 37-acre parcel located on Alford street, about 1 mile from the Medford/Everett city line.
Medford City Councilor Robert Penta has submitted a resolution calling for the city to review the Massachusetts Gaming Commission's regulations and what controls neighboring communities have over projects.
Las Vegas-based gambling tycoon Steve Wynn has signed an option to lease the parcel as he looks to compete with Suffolk Downs for a license to open a casino in Greater Boston. Wynn's plan calls for the development of a $1 billion resort casino.
The city council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Medford City Hall.
