State Representative Carl Sciortino has raised over $350,000 this year for his run to fill Ed Markey's seat in congress, including about $200,000 in the last three months.

Sciortino's campaign has received 1,527 donations totaling over $350,000, according to an announcement from the campaign.

Second quarter campaign finance is not yet available from the Federal Elections Commission, but first quarter data shows Sciortino raised $152,298 in the first three months of this year, and had spent $13,496 on the campaign.

A Democrat from Medford who represents parts of Somerville and Medford in the state house, Sciortino announced his intention to run for Markey's seat in February, and made it official in June, after Markey was elected to the US Senate.

Sciortino will face State Senators William Brownsberger, Katherine Clark, and Karen Spilka, and Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian in a Democratic primary. The date of the election has not yet been set.
