The following was submitted by the Perry and Marty Granoff Muci Center at Tufts University:

The Tufts University Department of Music presents C4: The Choral Composer/Conductor Collective – a unique chorus that is directed and operated collectively by its singing members – in a concert on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 8 p.m. in the Distler Performance Hall of the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Tufts’ Medford/Somerville campus. Entitled “Stories From Lives,” the program will highlight works by Ester Magi, Steven Stucky, Jonathan David, C.A. Pinto Fonseca, Tufts performance faculty member Thomas Stumpf, Joe Rubinstein, Charles Fussell, Bettina Sheppard, Emma Lou Diemer, and Michael Dellaira.

As a chorus run by its members, C4 functions not only as a presenting ensemble, but also as an ongoing workshop and recital chorus for the emerging composers and conductors who form the core of the group. It is the first organization of its kind and one of the few choral groups in the nation to focus on the music of our time, exclusively performing music written in the last twenty-five years. In this concert, C4 will present music reflecting personal experiences or relating to the composer's heritage.

The Granoff Music Center is located at 20 Talbot Avenue on Tufts’ Medford/Somerville campus. Tickets are free with a Tufts I.D. card (limit two per I.D.) and $10 for general admission.  For more information, please visit as.tufts.edu/music/musiccenter or call the Granoff Music Center Box Office at 617.627.3679.
This concert has been made possible by the Granoff Music Fund.
