Melrose police make arrest in Richdale robbery

A recent police log includes unarmed robbery charges. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Nuno Porto, 27, of 25 West Wyoming Ave., #2, was arrested on Monday, May 17 around 8:46 a.m. for unarmed robbery at Richdale on West Wyoming Avenue.

Officers summonsed Patricia Wright, 47, of 1 Norris Ct., on Tuesday, May 18 around 1:46 p.m. for trespassing and criminal harassment.

Police summonsed James Gorman, 40, of 49 Ryder Ave., on Wednesday, May 19 around 7:41 p.m. for violating an abuse prevention order.

Police responded to a report of 15 strikers arguing with the manager at Shaw's Supermarket on Essex Street on Thursday, May 20 around 4:59 p.m. Officers spoke with both parties and restored order. A detail officer was hired to patrol the area.

Officers placed a 20-year-old Melrose man in protective custody on Friday, May 21 around 2:32 a.m. after a caller reported kids being loud in the woods near Swains Pond Avenue.
