Melrose police stop fight on Vinton Street

Police in Melrose responded to recent incidents of domestic violence and a fight. All suspectsare innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

John W. Garniss, 45, was arrested after he was stopped by police Sept. 20. Garniss, of 28 Belmont St., was charged with operating a vehicle with a revoked license and a passing violation.

Police arrested Frederick McLemore, 45, at his home on Pleasant Street Sept. 24 on charges of assault and battery after officers responded to a possible domestic dispute at the residence.

Police were alerted to a fight in progress Saturday Sept. 25 at 132 Vinton St. and arrested Mark D. MacDonald, 28, of Saugus, for alleged assault and battery, assault and battery on a a police officer, wanton destruction of property valued at more than $250, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and threatening to commit a crime, to wit: murder.
