Man who who attempted Melrose robbery friday to be arraigned
Police arrested a homeless man last Friday after he allegedly staged an early morning break-in at the Williams and Alley Insurance Company, where he briefly held employees there against their will.
Police received a call of a robbery in progress after the employees held at their office at 837 Main St. signaled customers to call police, according to a police report.
Michael Wiltshire, 35, who most recently held an address on Pleasant Street in Melrose, is expected to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony, maliscious destruction of property valued at more than $250, possession of burglarious tools, assault and battery, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
Wiltshire is also wanted on four warrants out of Boston, police said. He is to be arraigned in Malden District Court.
