Melrose police and agents with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested two men on Wednesday in connection with the ongoing investigation of a residence on Hurd Street in Melrose.
Anthony Vivolo, 42, of 44 Hurd Street, and Xaviel Carasquillo, 27, of 100 Orange Street, Chelsea, were both arrested on warrants in connection with the investigation. They were also charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute in a school zone, according to a statement released by Melrose Lt. Mark DeCroteau.
Carasquillo was also charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute in a school zone.
In addition to the arrests, police and agents executed a search warrant at Vivolo's residence, according to the statement.
Vivolo was arraigned in Malden District Court and released on personal recognizance. Carasquillo was initially held on $2,500 cash bail. His bail was revoked due to probation violations related to a case out of Somerville District Court.
According to DeCroteau, the investigation is ongoing.
