Melrose goes strong for Obama; Warren wins narrowly

Melrose voters overwhelmingly chose to reelect President Obama, while narrowly picking Democrat Elizabeth Warren over Republican US Senator Scott Brown.

Obama received 9,289 votes in Melrose to Republican challenger Mitt Romney's 5,936, according to preliminary results compiled by the Globe. Warren edged Brown in Melrose by less than 600 votes, receiving 8,006 to Brown's 7,409.
