Melrose's school superintendent is forming a search committee to find a new high school principal, according to an announcements from the school department.
Superintendent Cyndy Taymor plans to advertise the job Dec. 3, and is seeking parent volunteers to serve on the search committee by Dec. 9, according to the announcements.
The 11-member committee will include an assistant superintendent, two department heads, two teachers, two parents, two students, one school committee member and one community member, according to an announcement.
The school has been without a permanent principal since Dan Richards left in June to become principal at Belmont High School. Marianne Farrell, previously an assistant principal at the high school, has served as interim principal since Richards left.
Interviews with candidates are expected to begin in late January and an appointment is expected by March.
