Over $5 million in improvements to water and sewer infrastructure will be considered in Melrose next week.

The city's water and sewer rate committee, with the approval of Mayor Rob Dolan, has recommended the city take out a $2.5 million bond to replace water meters citywide, a $2 million bond for water pipeline improvements and $1 million for sewer improvements.

The Board of Aldermen's Appropriations Committee will review the proposals in a meeting July 11 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
