Milton Public Library has chosen “Cutting for Stone” by Abrahim Verghese for the February book discussion topic.

The discussions are held on the first Monday of each month from February through June, and October through December.

Evening sessions are at 7:30 in the trustees’ room at the library; morning discussions are held at 10 at the Winter Valley senior housing complex.

The book groups are open to anyone, whether or not they’ve read the book. “Cutting for Stone” is the first novel from Verghese, a doctor who has written two memoirs.

Previous book group choices include “The Falls” by Joyce Carol Oates, and “Death of a Red Heroine” by Qui Xiaolong.
