In a rematch of the the 2009 finals, Foxborough’s Alana  Prinos defeated Milton High's Ariana Launie in three sets Saturday to win her second MIAA South Girls Individual singles title in three years.

Tied 4-4, the Curtis twins won the next two games to clinch the first set, then prevailed after a number of deuces to take the second set 6-2.

In the singles match, Launie took the first three games before Prinos won the next six games to take the first set.

“Sometimes, I just get bad starts,” Prinos said. “Just trying to get your mind together, it’s difficult… I just had to collect myself.”

Trailing 2-3 in the second set, Launie rallied to take the next four games and the set. Long rallies from the baseline kept both girls back, forcing errors on deep, high balls and low, short drop shots.

Prinos took the third set 6-3 in a match lasting 2 1/2 hours.

“We always put on a show,” Launie said, after a long hug over the net with her rival.
