The police log: homes broken into; cars vandalized with slurs
On Aug. 2 at 9:40 p.m., several people visited the police station to report past larcenies from their homes. On at least four occasions, significant amounts of money were taken from the homes. A joint investigation by the Milton and Plymouth police departments resulted in the recovery of four motorcycles and thousands of dollars in cash related to the case. One adult male was arrested on a charge of conspiracy and receiving stolen property over $250. One juvenile male was arrested on a charge of larceny from a building and four counts of conspiracy.
At 9:55 p.m., a caller reported a breaking-and-entering into a resident’s home earlier that day. An adult male suspect was identified, located, and arrested on a charge of breaking and entering and felony larceny from a building.
On Aug. 3 at 10:42 p.m. a caller reported hearing people arguing. Officers reported a domestic disturbance between two brothers. One male was placed under arrest on a charge of malicious destruction of property and assault and battery.
On Aug. 4 between 6:35 and 11:37 a.m., five residents reported their cars had been vandalized during the night. The vandalism occurred to a row of cars parked along Church Street. The cars were keyed and marked with racial slurs. Police officials do not believe this was a targeted hate crime and currently have no suspects.
At 7:06 a.m., the owner of a car with Rhode Island license plates reported a break-in. Several items were taken from the car.
At 7:13 a.m., a caller reported that a car had been keyed during the night.
At 8:03 a.m., a caller reported that two of his cars had been broken into during the night on Courtland Circle.
At 10:10 a.m, a caller reported vandalism to a motor vehicle on Lothrop Avenue.
At 12:48 p.m., a caller reported a break-in to a motor vehicle on Courtland Circle. Several items were taken from the car.
At 4:56 p.m., a caller reported a break-in to a vehicle on Thistle Avenue. Items were reported missing from the car.
At 5:18 p.m. a caller reported a theft from a motor vehicle on Thistle Avenue.
At 6:54 p.m. a caller reported vandalism to a motor vehicle on Squantum Street.
