What's happening around Milton this week
Here’s a quick look at events and happenings taking place this week in Milton.
Meetings: The Warrant Committee will meet Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Blute Conference Room at Town Hall. The Board of Appeals will also meet that night at 7:30 in the Cronin Conference Room on the second floor of Town Hall. The Board of Selectmen will meet Jan. 19 in the Cronin Conference room at 6:30 p.m.
Schools: Students are out Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and will return Tuesday. The School Committee will meet Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Milton High School Library for a regular meeting.
Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: An annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration takes place Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church, 180 Blue Hill Ave. The event includes a performance by the Milton High Gospel Chorus, a simple supper, a show by the St. Agatha Church Puppeteers, and a resolution of respect.
Presentation: Milton Hospital president Joe Morrissey will speak with residents and others interested in hearing about the hospital, at Fuller Village, 1372 Brush Hill Road on Jan. 18 at 6:15 p.m.
In court: A "dangerousness hearing" for Roy Jaundoo, 35, of Roslindale, Kevin Taylor, 22, of Dorchester, and Caiheem Kindell, 21, of Randolph, all charged in connection with a car chase that led to a shooting last Thursday night, will take place Jan. 18 in Quincy District Court.
