Milton Animal League, Kiwanis, Board of Health to hold rabies clinic

The Milton Animal League, Kiwanis, and the Milton Board of Health will hold their annual rabies clinic Saturday, April 14 at the Atherton Street Fire Station on Route 138.

Morton Wolf, a member of the Kiwanis and a retired veterinarian, has volunteered to administer the shots.

Organizers are urging residents to take advantage of the clinic as “a protective measure for both the animal and the public, particularly children,” a news release about the event said.

Cats will be vaccinated from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and must be brought in carriers. Dogs will be vaccinated from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and must be on leashes.

A one-year rabies vaccination is $10 and a three-year Rabies vaccination for animals that qualify is $15.

In addition to the clinic, the Milton Animal Shelter will hold a bake sale and information about state-mandated dog licensing will be available.

Owners found with unlicensed dogs may be fined up to $30. Registration costs $10 for spayed or neutered dogs and $15 for others.
