Ed Chapman, a Milton resident and owner of the Abby Park restaurant, hopes to raise more than $30,000 for the McCourt Foundation’s third annual Tour de South Shore, which will take place on Sept. 22.

So far, Chapman’s team has raised $410, but last year he raised a record $26,000.
According to a news release, Chapman began riding for The McCourt Foundation because he believed in supporting Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis research.

The foundation raises corporate and philanthropic donations and works to educate patients and caregivers about the day-to-day challenges of the diseases.

As the owner of Abby Park, Chapman saw the ride as a way to get involved and give back to the community, the statement said.

This year, Abby Park will host two fund-raisers prior to the race. The first will be a comedy night and the second a wine tasting event.

For more information about the event, or to donate to the foundation visit www.McCourtFoundation.org.
