The Milton Players, a live theater group in Milton, will hold auditions for a November performance of "Steel Magnolias" on Aug. 20 and 21.

The play follows the world of six women at "Truvy's," a beauty salon where the women come together to share neighborly gossip, a statement about the auditions said. When tragedy strikes, the women find comfort at the the salon and support from one another that helps them through.

Actors do not need to live in Milton, but if the Milton Players casting committee feels two or more people are right for the role, preference will be given to current members of the organization. Non-members who are cast in a role must then join the organization and pay dues.

Character descriptions of the six women are available on the website as is a questionnaire that must be filled out prior to auditions.

Audition times will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. both days at Cunningham Hall, 75 Edge Hill Rd.

For more information about the group or auditions contact director Glenn Kane at glennkane@comcast.net.
