Temple Shalom of Milton will host a community Yizkor service on the evening of Yom Kippur, Sept. 26, and is inviting residents of Milton and neighboring towns to attend.
The service will include a Yizkor memorial prayer in the synagogue by attendees who have lost parents or loved ones, a news release said.
Residents interested in attending do not need tickets and are invited to the service and the following “Dairy Break-Fast” afterward. All services will be under the direction of Rabbi Fred Benjamin and Cantor Saralee Shrell-Fox.
The Yizkor service will start at 5:45 p.m. and be followed by the Ne’ilah, or concluding service, and the final Shofar blast will be at 7:19 p.m.
Temple Shalom’s worship services, including the Sept. 26 event, are being held at the Great Hall Sanctuary in the First Congregational Church, 495 Canton Ave.
