Milton’s special town meeting scheduled for Monday night has been canceled due to the storm. Town meeting members should reconvene at Milton High School, 25 Gile Rd., Thursday at 7:30 p.m., a news release from the town said.

The town has not canceled trash collection yet but will update the town website if that changes.

School has been canceled for at least Monday and Milton Public Schools Superintendent Mary Gormley said she will make “every effort” to send out phone and email updates during the next few days.

Residents needing shelter are advised to go to the Red Cross Regional Shetler at Weymouth High School, 1 Wildcat Way.

Milton administrators also recommended residents keep the following numbers handy:

Police: 617-698-1212 or 617-698-3800

NSTAR: 800-592-2000

National Grid: 800-233-5325

Milton DPW: 617-898-4900
