23 Milton High students selected to perform at Senior Eastern District Music Festival

More than 20 Milton High School musicians and singers were recently selected to perform at the Senior Eastern District Music Festival at the Boston Latin School on Jan. 5.

According to a news release, the 23 Milton students were selected based on judges’ scores during district auditions held in November. More than 900 students from the greater Boston area attended the auditions, which were held at Milton High.

Students selected will participate in band, chorus, jazz, and orchestra performances with other students at the Massachusetts Music Educators Association's annual festival.

Milton High students selected this year are:

Dawn Barrett, Simon Eder, Bethany Knight, Rebecca Simms, Christine Stafford, David Cleckley, Monika Cormack, Andrew Flynn, Bailey McDonnell, Kevin Mehdizadeh, Andrew Mowe, Jacqueline Ruscito, Garrett Sager, Shaina Toon, Eliza Trickett, Christian Urbina, Will Hess, Kali Guise, Kristen Ingraham, Aminzie Marc, Lily Moerschel, Rose Moerschel, and Phil Wikina.

Residents interested in hearing the young musicians can attend any of the upcoming performances:

· Dec. 6 – MHS Afterschool Ensembles at Milton High School, 7 p.m.
· Dec. 8 – MHS Carolers, at the Town Common, 3:30 p.m.
· Dec. 11 – Pierce Middle School Winter Concert I, at MHS, 7 p.m.
· Dec. 12 – MHS Carolers, at Fuller Village, 3:00 p.m.
· Dec. 12 – Pierce Winter Concert II, at MHS, 7 p.m.
· Dec. 13 – MHS Winter Concert, at MHS, 7 p.m.
· Dec. 19 – MHS Carolers and MHS Key Club, at Unquity House, 3:30 p.m.
· Dec. 19 – MHS Carolers, at Fuller Village, 5 p.m.
