Temple Shalom of Milton will observe Hanukkah with a family celebration and fund-raiser Dec. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Pierce Middle School.

The event, which is sponsored by the temple’s Rabbi Jerome Weistrop Religious School, will include a talent show, a latke tasting, a menorah lighting, a book swap, raffles, and live performances of Hanukkah songs.

According to a news release from the temple, this event is part of Temple Shalom’s regular celebration of all Jewish holidays - solemn and festive. Hanukkah is an eight-day celebration and is observed this year from the evening of Dec. 8 through Dec. 16.

Tickets are $5 per person, $3 for children under 13, and free for children 3-years-old and under, with a family maximum of $12. Pierce Middle School is located at 451 Central Ave.
