Milton police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Thursday evening on Randolph Avenue near Heather Drive.

Odson Vincent, 75, of Randolph, had serious injuries when police arrived Thursday around 6:22 p.m. and was in traumatic arrest. He was transported by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Milton where he was pronounced dead, police said.

According to a news release, police received several calls about a pedestrian struck on Randolph Avenue. When they arrived, they found a man on the southbound side of the four-lane road.

Witnesses told police the man was attempted to cross from the northbound side of the road when he was hit. Police Chief Richard Wells said Friday that the driver, who is also from Randolph, stopped “immediately and called 911.”

There are no crosswalks or stop signs where the accident occurred, and police said they do not believe speed was a factor.

A State Police reconstructionist team was brought in to assist with the investigation.
