Temple Shalom of Milton will hold a discussion Tuesday about the historical and sociological factors that prompted the ancient Jewish Hanukkah rebellion.

The workshop will be led by Rabbi Fred Benjamin and will compare the rebellion to the recent Arab Spring uprisings.

Participants will discuss questions such as “If this rebellion can be compared to today’s Arab Spring, what conclusions can be drawn?” a news release about the event said.

Benjamin will pass out primary sources for attendees to use in the workshop. The event is free and open to everyone.

It will be held Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at the Milton Public LIbrary, 476 Canton Ave.
