“Singing at the Vatican was something I will never forget,” said Fontbonne senior Emma Byrne.

Fontbonne upperclasswomen traveled to Naples, Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento, and the ruins of the ancient city of Pompeii.

In addition to the Mass at the Vatican, the chorus performed at The Church of Santa Maria Maggiore alla Pietrasanta in Naples and at St. Paul’s Within the Walls Episcopal Church in Rome.

Students were accompanied by Fontebonne musical team faculty members Douglas Anderson and Carol Fortier, as well as several parents and friends.

“I love to organize at least one memorable trip each year for our choruses so they can see the world and perform in some spectacular venues, said Fortier, who is chairman of the music department at Fontbonne. “Our choruses have performed at Disney and even the White House, but this was very meaningful because it connected so deeply to our faith.”
