Milton police log: May 6 to 12

The following information was taken from the Milton police log. Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Monday, May 6
Break-in: At 8:57 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle break-in on Howe Street. The unlocked car was rummaged through, but nothing was taken. A GPS and a set of golf clubs were undisturbed.

Theft: At 11:33 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Christopher Drive. The vehicle had been left unlocked and a cell phone was taken.

Arrest: At 6:34 p.m., police arrested Susan Vegnani, 40, of Milton and charged her with operating a vehicle with a revoked license and failure to get vehicle inspected. The arrest was made at the intersection of Squantum Street and Christopher Drive.

Tuesday, May 7
Theft: At 5:24 p.m., police received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Christopher Drive. The vehicle was unlocked and loose change was taken from the center console.

Theft: At 5:41 p.m., police received a report of a theft on Green Street. A landscaping company doing work on the street reported two leaf blowers valued at $550 each were taken.

Wednesday, May 8
Break-in: At 8:24 a.m., police received a report of a break-in to a vehicle on Cedar Terrace Street. The vehicle had been left unlocked in a driveway and nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Theft: At 8:42 a.m., police received a report of a theft from vehicles on Cedar Terrace Street. The two vehicles were entered overnight and had been left unlocked in a driveway. Two expired American Express gift cards were taken.

Assault: At 10:35 a.m., police received a report of an assault on Adams Street. The victim, who is a private investigator, was confronted at Starbucks by a man. The man asked the victim if he was following his wife, then slapped the victim. The victim attempted to leave, but the assailant followed him outside and slapped him repeatedly. Police are continuing to investigate.

Thursday, May 9
Accident: At 2:36 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Brook Road and Centre Street. One vehicle struck the other in the rear while the second vehicle was stopped at a light. One person was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton.

Accident: At 4:53 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Central Avenue in which a car struck a utility pole. The operator of the vehicle reported dizziness and then lost control of the vehicle and struck and damaged the pole. One person was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton.

Accident: At 7:28 p.m., Police Chief Richard Wells reported a minor accident involving his cruiser at the intersection of Randolph Avenue and Reedsdale Road. The accident was minor and resulted in a paper exchange with no damage to the cruiser.

Saturday, May 11
Theft: At 11 a.m., police received a report of the theft of pottery planters, a bag of grass seed, and assorted plants on Pierce Street. Police later received a call that the Pierce Street resident’s grandchildren had taken the items in order to replace them with better items for Mother’s Day.

Sunday, May 12
Stabbing: At 3:19 a.m., police received a report from the Carney Hospital in Dorchester that a victim with a knife wound to his arm was being treated in the emergency department. The victim claimed a stabbing occurred on Blue Hill Avenue, but was unclear on details of what he was doing that night. He said that after he left a house party, he was confronted by two men dressed in black and one of them stabbed him. Police are investigating the matter.
