Jeff Stoodt, host of Milton Cable TV’s “The Great American Songbook” will present a program of songs by Cole Porter at the Milton Public Library on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The program will be presented in a cabaret setting, and Stoodt will also tell stories about each song and the composer.

The concert, called “Night and Day,” will be held in the Keys Community room on the lower level of the library building at 476 Canton Ave.

Accompanying Stoodt will be pianist Jim Rice, musical director of the Stoneham Theater’s recent revival of the musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

“Night and Day” will spotlight Porter’s well-known compositions such as “I Get a Kick Out of You,” and “Let’s Misbehave.”

Porter’s work is distinguished by its sophisticated language and frequent humorous and wry sentiments.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library and is free and open to the public.
