Found money

A woman came into the Milton police station on Monday and turned in $1,500 in cash she found in a gutter outside Fitness Unlimited on Granite Avenue.

Police placed it into evidence until it can be claimed, but did not release any details on the envelope containing the money.

Idling car nabbed

A woman left the engine running on her gray 2006 Hundai Sonata in front of her mother’s house on Eliot Street on Monday and it was stolen within three minutes, according to police.

The woman was visiting her mother just before noon to pick something up and when she returned to where she had parked her car, it was missing along with her purse and cell phone, which were inside, police said.

Police tried to track the vehicle using the GPS device inside the phone but that did not work. They did have some success tracking activity on her credit card.

Police believe they have store footage of a suspect with the stolen car using the stolen credit card and are still in the process of identifying him, according to King.

Vandal defiles car

A Denmark Street woman emerged from her home Tuesday evening to find an obscenity scratched into the rear door of her car.

The car was scratched all over with what appeared to be a key, according to Milton Deputy Police Chief John King.

The woman did not have any idea of who committed the vandalism.
