Three people were taken to hospitals Friday morning after a bakery truck collided head-on with a car.

Milton Fire Lieutenant Chris Madden said that the accident occurred at 7:15 a.m. on Randolph Avenue, and that the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The collision sent the bakery box truck into the woods, which had to be lifted out with heavy machinery.

Madden said three people were taken to the hospital, though he wasn’t aware of any major injuries.

The driver of the car was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston as a precaution, Madden said. The two occupants of the truck were taken to Quincy Medical Center with minor injuries.

Traffic was shut down on the road for a short while, with the accident causing long back- ups, Madden said.
