Natick Community Organic Farm to host 10th annual harvest dinner and auction Sept. 19
Local residents enjoy dinner and drinks at past Harvest Dinners hosted by the Natick Community Organic Farm.
The following is based upon a prepared statement from Natick Community Organic Farm:
The Natick Community Organic Farm has announced it will hold its 10th annual Harvest Dinner and Auction on September 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Wellesley College Club.
The Wellesley College Club’s chefs will create a bountiful meal from certified-organic vegetables and fruits grown by the farm, as well as humanely-raised, organically-fed, NCOF-reared meats, and farm-grown honey and maple syrup.
The dinner will also feature cheese, fish, beer, wine and produce from other local and organic Massachusetts food producers.
Last year’s menu featured a cheese and fondue course made up entirely of Massachusetts-made cheeses as well as fresh locally-caught fish and oysters, farm-raised turkey and pork, and desserts made of locally-grown fruits.
Throughout the dinner this year, guests will have the opportunity to bid on select auction items, including stays at environmentally-friendly inns, gift certificates to restaurants that support local farms, spa packages, and a number of other environmentally friendly and locally made products.
The dinner will be hosted by Dave Becker, owner of Sweet Basil Restaurant of Needham. Musicians with Natick Farm roots will perform live music during the event.
The Harvest Dinner and Auction is the farm's largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds go to support the farm and its ongoing mission of providing productive open space, farm products, and hands-on education, year-round.
Harvest Dinner reservations are $80 per person before Labor Day (September 3).
Reservations at the door will be $100 per person, space permitting. Reservations may be made on the Natick Farm's website using a credit card.
This is the third year that Wellesley College Club has hosted the event. The event will take place at 727 Washington St. in Wellesley.
