Natick Veterans Council to donate tree to new Natick High School
The Natick Veterans Council will donate a tree to Natick High School on Oct. 2 to commemorate the men and women from Natick who have served in the military.
The event begins at 1:30 p.m. and will take place on the high school's campus.
The new $78.5 million Natick High School opened in late August after two years of construction, under budget and on time.
Afterwards, The Natick Veterans Council will convene at Memorial Stadium soccer field to unveil the plaque naming the field "Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall Field."
The field last year hosted the Vietnam Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the memorial in Washington, D.C. engraved with the 58,000 lost soldiers’ names.
Ceremonies held last summer when the Moving Wall arrived honored the 11 Natick men who fought and died in the Vietnam War.
