Occupy Natick will co-sponsor a presentation this Thursday by David Cobb, a spokesperson for Move to Amend, a coalition that seeks to add an amendment to the US Constitution stating that inalienable rights belong to human beings only.

Cobb will speak about how corporations have received certain constitutional rights allowing them to spend unlimited money on elections, including the 2010 Citizens United v. FEC decision, which introduced the now-famous "super PACs."

The talk comes shortly before the Nov. 6 Democracy Amendment question, a nonbinding ballot question calling for a constitutional amendment to end corporate constitutional rights and allow spending limits in political campaigns.

The free event will take place at the Natick Senior Center at 90 Oak St. on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Cobb, the national projects director of Democracy Unlimited, is a lawyer and political activist.

The event is co-sponsored by the groups Massachusetts Common Cause, Democracy Amendment Coalition of Massachusetts, and Occupy Natick.
