Needham man arrested for OUI

When Needham police arrived at the scene depicted here, the Toyota
Forerunner that had hit a telephone pole on Greendale Avenue was
unoccupied, according to Lt. Chris Baker, who said the accident occurred
just after midnight Thursday. After getting a description of the driver
from neighbors, police found a 38-year old Needham man, who matched the
description, walking slowly near the scene and “swaying side to side,” said
Baker. When police questioned him, they detected a “strong odor” of alcohol
and asked him to take a field sobriety test, which he failed, said Baker.
The man was arrested for operating under the influence. --Lisa Kocian
