A 62-year-old Needham town worker was killed this morning when he lost control of his pickup truck on Route 3 northbound in Pembroke, State Police said.

John A. Barisano of Marshfield was killed when his town-owned truck struck and flipped over the guardrail on the left side of the road and rolled over into the median strip, ejecting him, State Police said in a statement. The accident happened north of Exit 12 and south of the North River bridge at about 6:19 a.m.

Barisano was taken to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash is being investigated by Troop D of the State Police, along with the crime scene and collision analysis and reconstruction units.
