Along with fare increases and reductions of some service that kick in on July 1, the commuter rail will see some scheduling changes.“The new schedules reflect operational improvements that will enhance service reliability and the customers' experience,” said an e-mail from Scott Farmelant, spokesman for the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company, which operates the commuter rail system under a contract with the MBTA.
He said that the scheduling changes (scroll down to see a full list of the changes) coincide with the other changes the T plans to implement on July 1. Because new schedules needed to be printed due to the planned fare increases anyway, changing the schedules will not add any costs.
