The public celebration of Needham’s Olympic gold medal winner Aly Raisman will likely be pushed off until next week, according to Sandy Cincotta, a town support services manager.

Cincotta said the town is working on an official event, but the actual date is still to be determined as officials work around Raisman's busy post-Olympic schedule.

Cincotta said previously that the town plans to host a parade and a rally for their hometown hero.

“I believe everyone who could possibly be there will attend,” Cincotta said.

This week alone, Raisman is flitting around New York City, appearing with the "Fierce Five" US women's gymnastics team on Good Morning America this morning, the Late Show with David Letterman tonight, and The Colbert Report on Wednesday night.

Raisman will likely return home to Needham sometime this week, her friends say.

After resting in Needham, Raisman is expected to embark on a 40-city countrywide tour with her US teammates later this month.
