Needham has postponed its Special Town Meeting to Tuesday, Nov. 13, because of Hurricane Sandy.

Town Meeting was scheduled to take place Monday night. But with winds whipping up from the storm, officials decided to postpone it to Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Powers Hall located in Town Hall.

As of 3:30 p.m., 119 customers were without power in Needham, according to an NSTAR outage map.

Needham Fire Chief Paul Buckley said that while the fire department had received about a dozen calls reporting downed trees and wires, there has been no structural damage and no reported injuries in the town. He noted that it looks like the weather is starting to pick up, however, and emphasized that people should not go near downed wires, even if they do not appear dangerous.
