While Needham's Aly Raisman and the other women of the 2012 USA women's gymnastics team may have inspired Americans this summer, they had the chance to meet another national role model Thursday.

Raisman joined her teammates Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber in the Oval Office to meet President Barack Obama, as seen in the official White House photo above.

Raisman tweeted around 5:30 Thursday morning, "On my way to DC to meet the president with the rest of the team!! So cool :) I'm so honored!"

As of 5 p.m., the post had been retweeted 187 times.

The Fierce Five also got to watch President Obama depart from the South Lawn of the White House on the Marine One helicopter.

At the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, the women won the gold medal in the team all-around competition, and Raisman, the team's captain, took home an additional gold and a bronze in individual competitions.
