Newton comeback falls short in Babe Ruth World Series

Newton fell 4-3 to Tuscon, Arizona, today in the opening game of pool play at the Babe Ruth 14- year old World Series in Glen Allen, Virginia.

Down 4- 2 in the sixth, Newton was able to rally, cutting the lead to 4- 3. But Tuscon was able to hold on for the win.

Tuscon took an early 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning.

Newton was able to respond scoring a run in the 4th and 5th inning, cutting the lead to 3- 2.

Tuscon scored a run in the top of the 6th, to make the lead the lead 4-2, giving them all the run support they would need.

After cutting the lead to 4- 3, in the 6th, Newton was unable to score another run to tie it in the 7th.

Newton is scheduled to play their next game on Monday at 7 p.m. against Mims Park, Alabama.
