Newton Jewish Community Center to host bone marrow drive

The Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center in Newton will host a donor recruitment drive to register potential bone marrow donors on February 14 from 7:30 to 9:30am) and February 16 from 4 to 6 pm) on behalf of the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation.


The drive the community center at 333 Nahanton Street will benefit patients suffering from various blood cancers and diseases who are in need of a transplant.

All members of the community are encouraged to participate. If you are between the ages of 18 and 60 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide donor registry. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are a match.
