The MBTA has resumed full service on the Green Line’s D-branch from Boston to Newton, after clearing fallen limbs and repairing equipment damaged by the storm.

Full service resumed shortly after 9:30 Wednesday morning, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in an e-mail.

The section between the Newton Highlands and Riverside stations was closed all of Tuesday after a tree fell on a pole. MBTA officials later that day suspended service for the entire branch from Kenmore to Riverside stations to clear other trees and limbs that had fallen along the route.

The Green Line’s D-branch sustained the worst of the damage from Hurricane Sandy.
