Don't miss the Latin American Fiesta at the Newton Cultural Center

On Saturday, March 23rd, the Latin American Fiesta at the Newton Cultural Center will showcase many of the 23 Latin American countries representing by their music, games, arts & crafts, photographs, food, and dancing, according to a press release.

The Fiesta opens with kids activities from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. where the young ones will have the opportunity to recreate different types of crafts from several regions: bark painting (amate), molas, tissue flowers, and national flags. There will also be a piñata and a face painter.

Exciting bands will be performing a range of rhythms from Brazil, Cape Verde, Venezuela and Colombia. The Mauro Tortolero Band will be plating salsa, merengue, and boleros and will lead the communal dances.

Delicious Latin American food will be for sale, as well as jewelry and handcrafted decorations.

Admission is free, but please bring a non-perishable food item for the Newton Food Pantries. The Newton Cultural Center is located at 225 Nevada Street.
