Jim Koch, founder of Samual Adams Brewery, will be the keynote speaker at the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce's Annual Achievement Breakfast on Nov. 14.

The event will honor the contributions of local businesses and individuals to the local economy, according to a press release.

Koch brewed his first batch of Sam Adams Boston Lager in his Newton kitchen almost 30 years ago, and has since become a major figure in the country's craft beer craze. The brand is sold in all 50 states and in 30 countries. Today, the company is America's largest independently owned brewery.

“Jim Koch’s isn’t only a world-class brewer. He embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity. And he’s one of Newton’ own,” said Greg Reibman, the chamber’s president. “I can’t think of any one better to celebrate and honor the best of Newton and Needham at this year’s breakfast.”

The event will take place at 7:30 a.m. at the Needham Sheraton Hotel on Nov. 14. For ticket information go to www.nnchamber.com or call 617-244-5300.
