Newton-Wellesley Hospital to host community forum on adolescents, mental health, and suicide

Newton-Wellesley Hospital will host a community forum on Wednesday, Nov. 13, titled "Adolescents, Mental Health & Suicide: How to Begin a Conversation with Your Child."

The forum, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will be geared for parents of middle and high school children. It will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Shipley Auditorium, Second Floor, 2014 Washington Street, Newton.

Speakers at the event will provide practical strategies to parents for starting a conversation about mental health with their children. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions. Topics to be covered include:

-- How do we know if our children are at risk for the kinds of problems that can lead to suicide?

-- What can we do to help protect our children?

-- How do we start a meaningful conversation?
