Four members of the Boston Fire Department have been honored for four decades of service.

Fire Commissioner Roderick Fraser and Chief of Department Ronald Keating presented pins and certificates for 40 years of service during a ceremony last week to recognize: Captain Joseph Driscoll of Ladder 16 in Roslindale, Captain John Tkachuk of Engine 8 in the North End, Lieutenant James Mahoney of the marine Unit based in the North End and Firefighter John Harding, the Hospital Representative based in South Boston.

Boston Fire Fighters Local 718 President Rich Paris and members of the Command Staff also attended the ceremonies, officials said in an announcement. Chief Ronald Marston of the District 6 units in South Boston and Downtown was unable to attend.
