The North End’s Paul Revere Mall, also known as the Prado, will be the site of the North End Music & Performing Arts Center first-ever Family Night on the Prado.

The North End Music & Performing Arts Center will host its first-ever family night in the North End’s Paul Revere Mall, also known as the Prado, the organization announced Thursday.

“The night will be a celebration of families, music, and the rich historical culture we have right here in the North End,” Rebecca Rapoport-Cole, marketing and communications coordinator for NEMPAC, said in an e-mail.

All families are welcome to participate in the free events scheduled for Thursday, July 18.

The evening will begin with a 5:30 – 7 p.m. activity period that will include a large puzzle supplied by the North End Historical Society; 18th century games and tricorn hat-making with the Paul Revere House; the Old North Church’s colonial chocolate and print shops; and a Pop-Up Piano that will be painted live by artist Giovanni Decunto, part of a Street Pianos initiative supported by the Celebrity Series of Boston.

Following the activity period, a concert will include the Dudamel Brass Band from the Conservatory Lab Charter School, the NEMPAC Musical Theatre Troupe, Watertown Children’s Theatre voice students, and NEMPAC private music instruction students. The concert will conclude at about 8 p.m.

Co-sponsors for the event include the Boston Foundation’s My Summer in the City initiative; the Celebrity Series of Boston’s Street Pianos Boston program; North End Against Drugs; the Mayor's Office of Arts, Tourism, & Special Events; and NorthEndBoston.com.
