Jeff Corwin returning to Norwell
Wildlife biologist, television personality, and author Jeff Corwin will return this month to Norwell to help open new attractions at the South Shore Natural Science Center.
Corwin, who grew up in Norwell and later helped establish the center’s EcoZone in 2002, will visit on Nov. 23 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. to introduce the mosaic that will greet visitors at the site. He also will unveil the “Fossils of Massachusetts” exhibit, sponsored by the Southeastern Massachusetts Mineral Club. Most of the fossils are behind glass, but visitors will be able to touch two of the samples.
Guests that night can meet with Corwin and receive a complimentary autographed copy of his book “100 Heartbeats: The Race to Save Earth’s Most Endangered Species.” The title refers to the Hundred Heartbeat Club, species that have 100 or fewer animals alive today.
The reception will include snacks, a cash bar, and music. Tickets are $50 per person or $80 per couple and may be purchased at the South Shore Natural Science Center, Norwell. Proceeds will be used to complete other exhibits at the EcoZone.
