Norwell PD seek pharmacy break-in suspects
Norwell Police are investigating the theft of drugs, painkillers, and money from the Rite Aid pharmacy on Washington Street last Wednesday.
In an e-mail, Deputy Police Chief Jack Suurhans said police were contacted at about 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 after a store manager arrived at work and found her office door pried open and a safe smashed open.
Police said robbers initially cut the wires to Rite Aid’s security system and tried to pry open a rear door. When that didn’t work, police said, the suspects went next door to On Rye Deli and pried open the back door to the sandwich shop.
Once in, the robbers smashed a hole into the wall from the deli to the pharmacy and headed to the manager’s office were the safe is kept.
Police said an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, along various quantities of suboxone, a drug used to treat opiate dependency, and the painkiller Vicodin.
Anyone with any information about the break-in can contact Norwell Police at 781-659-1212.
